READ, READ, READ
Please make sure that your child is reading for at least 15 minutes at home each evening on Monday-Thursday and recording it into his/her reading log as part of his/her daily homework assignments. There is also a place for you to sign off in the log each evening. Thank you!

We continue to start each math lesson with a 100 question facts test Keep practicing at home. *** Our focus is now on our division facts. If your child struggles with these, make some flash cards together or practice while in the car or at breakfast.

We love God's people. This will be the idea behind the chapters in Unit 4. In chapters 14-20 we will take a closer look at the fourth through the tenth commandments. In Ch. 14, we will look at how we are to honor and obey both our parents as well as other adults who teach and take care of us. Ch. 15 helps us look at how we should respect the wonderful gift of life. Being faithful to ourselves and others will be our focus in Ch. 16, while in Ch. 17 we will talk about how we should learn to respect what God has given us. In Ch.18 we will discuss how we are to respect the gifts of the earth, and in Ch 19, we will talk about the importance of speaking the truth with love. Finally, in Ch. 20 we will review yet again how living God's laws of love will bring us blessings both on earth and in heaven.

Maryland our Maryland
The government in Maryland is our focus in Ch. 7. In Lesson 1, we will identify the basick framework of our United States Government. Lesson 2 helps us to understand the state government of Maryland, and in Lesson 3 we will talk about local goverment. Finally, in Lesson 4 we will focus on the services that governments provide citizens and the rights and responsibilites of citizens.
