Using a variety of art materials and techniques, students explore Art Elements and Design Principles. In this course students develop skills which will ensure success in subsequent art courses.

Students learn techniques needed to use clay as a vehicle for self expression. Skills covered include pinch method, coiling, slab construction, and wheel throwing. A sculpture assignments using alternative materials will also be given.

This course is designed for students choosing to further their study in the area of Ceramics and Sculpture. Successful completion of Ceramics and Sculpture I is required. Advanced techniques for forming and glazing/finishing will be the focus of this course.

Students use digital cameras and Photoshop elements as a vehicle for self expression.
