Hi! My name is Micki Wall and I will be your child's teacher for the 2009- 2010 school year! Born and rasied in Virginia Beach, I was thrilled when I was offered my first teaching position with the city in 2002. That year I was hired to teach kindergarten at Strawbridge ES. The following four years I taught first grade until I returned to kindergarten two years ago. I love being at Strawbridge and I know you will too! It is an awesome school!
Mrs. Backus, my assistant, and I are very exicted about this school year. This is a very important year in your child's life. Kindergarten is the foundation of your child's education. It is our intentions to make the most of this vital year. Please let either of us know if you have questions or concerns.

Once we start introducing Word Wall Words, you will find them listed here. New words will be listed as they are introduced. You will often find Word Wall Words abbreviated WWW. When the time comes, please help your child study these words at home. Approximately half way through the year, we will give WWW quizes every other week.

**Next week (1/25) I will assess the students ability to read and write the above words. They will also be asked to use the words in two sentences.
**Bi-weekly WWW quizes will begin on Friday, February 12th. The students will be asked to spell the two new words and two other words from the above list. They will also be asked to write a dictated sentence.
