Even though I was born in Texas, I'm a Nebraskan at heart. I attended Crete Public Schools and graduated in 1998. After high school, I went to Nebraska Wesleyan University and graduated in 2002 with a degree in Language Arts, Theatre and Communication. During my years there I was actively involved in the Wesleyan dance team and theatre program. I got my Masters Degree through Doane in 2007.

In 2002 I began teaching 8th grade Language Arts in Crete and held the position until 2010. It was a little strange at first to return to the school from which I graduated, but it was a great experience. In addition, during my first eight years of teaching I was the high school head speech coach, head theatre director, and assistant musical director.

Three years ago, I made the move to Walnut Middle School and Grand Island. I have enjoyed living and working in a new community. My husband Matt and I have been married eight years, and we have one furry kitty: Scout. Matt works for a law firm here in town, and Scout plays fetch. We're a strange little family, but it works for us!
