3rd Period. Offered 1st semester only, to 7th and 8th grade students who:
-----have little or no previous band experience OR
-----already play an instrument but need a refresher course OR
-----are experienced band students who want to learn a new instrument.
7th grade students transfer into Cadet Band and 8th grade students transfer into Concert Band 2nd semester.
The required band book for this class is STANDARD OF EXCELLENCE, book 1.

6th and 7th periods. For 8th grade band students with at least 2 years of band experience, or successful completion of VVMS Accelerated Beginning Band class.
The required band book for this class is TECHNIC TODAY, part 3. Percussionists need the Bells book, not the Drums book.
