We also read Poe's "The Masque of the Red Death." Students practiced active reading strategies while reading in small groups or independently.

Students will complete a quick vocabualry practice.
Students will discuss "The Leap" and the role blindness plays. What can the mother's narrator "see" as a result of her blindness? What can't she see as a result of her blindness? Is it significant in the story?
Students will read Bradbury's "The Pedestrian" and compare and contrast the short story with Fahrenheit 451. |
