Whew!!!! This has been a long week. Today students turned in reading logs, vocabulary practices, and commericial and print ad projects.
Students completed the weekly vocabualry quiz.
We then had a date with the library where students browsed americanrhetoric.com website for speeches for analysis. (See attached.) Final work due on Monday.

Today students completed a QUIZ on our first set of vocabulary for this nine weeks.
Students took notes from a PowerPoint presentation on Logical Fallacies. After going through the PowerPoint (see attached) and discussing several examples students worked with a partner or small group identifying logical fallacies (see attached).
We will revisit this idea on Monday as it is a difficult concept to wrap your brain around. |

Today students took a QUIZ on Julilus Caesar Act 1. We will be looking very closely at mistakes tomorrow, so students have an opportunity to make improvements.
We began reading Act 2 with Scene 1 today. Students should have finished the 5 questions for that scene in class. If not, that is homework. Students are also responsible for a Scene Summary sheet for this one scene.

Students reviewed the events of Act 1 by studying the final FOUR lines (72-75)of the play and responding to FOUR questions. (See attached sheet for details.)
Today students completed reading Act 1 Scene 2 of Julius Caesar. Students are responsible for questions 4-7 for this act and for completing scene summary sheets. BOTH documents have been added to the Class Downloads portion of this webpage.
We will have a QUIZ on Act 1 on Tuesday. Students should be familiar with characters (Flavius, Marullus, Antony, Brutus, Cassius, and Caesar) and literary elements (exposition, monologue, soliloquy, pun, and tragedy). |

Today students completed a Punctuating Dialogue practice to prepare for tomorrow's POSTTEST.
Several students did presentations on the TKAM Soundtrack Project. We voted for TOP 3 songs.
Finally, students watched some scenes from Julius Caesar to familiarize them with major characters and events before we jump into the reading of the play on Monday. Students were responsible for responding to 5 questions based on what was seen and discussed in today's lesson. |

Finally, we took a field trip down to the Guidance Office for students to meet their counselors and get soem info on graduation.
