Spanish 2
This course will provide students with an opportunity to expand their skills in the Spanish language by practicing both the present and past tenses. Students will engage in reading, writing, listening and speaking on topics such as the following: a doctor visit, the beach, ski resorts, movies, the theater, museums, airplane travel, camping, backpacking, train travel and eating out at a restaurant. Preparation and Participation: Regular attendance, preparation and participation are central to your success in this course. Anticipate some type of homework or assignment nightly in preparation for class the next day. It is important that you are present and prepared every class day and that you actively participate in class. Students are encouraged to speak Spanish as much as possible. Grading: 20% Listening 20% Reading 20% Speaking 20% Writing 20% Culture and Connections Required Supplies: 1. pen/pencil 2. 3-ring binder (2 inch); loose leaf paper
Spanish 3
In Spanish 3 we will continue to use and expand upon the topics of camping, the beach and nature, environmental issues, the city, professions, technology, shopping, past times, hobbies, travel and geography. We will be working on verb usage in the preterite and imperfect tenses, the imperative tense and subjunctive use in the present and past tenses. Our cultural topics will include the countries of the Mexico, the United States, Central America, the Caribbean, Andian countires and Spain.
