RHS Graduation Coach
Welcome to Ripley High School's Graduation Coach web page
As one of two Graduation Coaches at Ripley High School, it is my pleasure to work with each of you, your parents and the community to help you reach your goals and drive towards your future! In 2011 we graduated a class of 194 students and raised our graduation rate for Ripley High School. We need your continued support and involvement to continue to move towards our goal of 100% graduation rate per class. This year, I will be working with Mrs. Kim Kelley (Guidance Counselor) in support of the Class of 2013 and the Class of 2015. Mr. Steve Smith (Graduation Coach) will be working with Mrs. Stacy White (Guidance Counselor) in support of the Class of 2014 and the Class of 2016. We look forward to working with the parents and community to see our students achieve success in High School.
The purpose of this web page is to help to provide additional resources where you can connect to others (bulletin board/email), read about things scheduled and going on, view photos of activities/events, and obtain additional study/test materials or links to sites that will help you reach your graduation goal and prepare for your future. In order to make things better in our world, we need to achieve new goals! High School graduation is the first step to those goals and to changing the world! We can do it so let's get started!!
Quote from President Obama's State of the Union Address January 25, 2011: "Over the next 10 years, nearly half of all new jobs will require education that goes beyond a high school education. And yet, as many as a quarter of our students aren't even finishing high school. The quality of our math and science education lags behind many other nations. America has fallen to ninth in the proportion of young people with a college degree. And so the question is whether all of us as citizens and as parents are willing to do what's necessary to give every child a chance to succeed." "That responsibility begins not in our classrooms, but in our homes and communities. ... We need to teach our kids that it's not just the winner of the Super Bowl who deserves to be celebrated, but the winner of the science fair."
