Welcome
Dear Parents/Guardians,
My name is Miss Conrad and I am a third year at Valparaiso University. It is important to me that you know what it is your students will be learning and what I will be teaching them this semester. Encouraging students to do their best is a big part of being a teacher. I focus on making sure my students learn the necessary qualities and requirements they will need to move on and grow in their future. It is my goal to make learning a fun and enjoyable experience for my students. I have much experience with multiple forms of technology that we will be using this year such as video editing software, Adobe products, and all Microsoft Office programs. Macs have a lot of great technology and I have been using a Macintosh computer all of my life. I am excited to be introducing some of what I know to your children. If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail me at raimie.conrad@valpo.edu Sincerely, Miss Conrad 2 Types of Assisted Technology: -Voice Recognition Software is a great way for students to communicate with the computer through a microphone. This is a way for students to dictate commands. This would mostly be used for students with visual impairments because they cannot see what they are clicking on. -For students with health problems, video conferencing is great because then they can still be in the classroom without actually being there. They can still interact with their teacher and classmates and learn the same topics. As much as it is better for students to be in the classroom, there are those who unfortunately cannot and therefore, video conferencing programs such as Skype or ooVoo are great! animoto
