Physical Education Department
Eagle High School
Welcome to the 2012-2013 School Year!
Just a reminder that all students in the physical education department need to have a plain black, white, grey, green, or mustang issued shirt and black, green, grey or white shorts. Also, appropriate athletic shoes for any class they are enrolled in. If you purchased a school uniform at registration those will be handed out in class. The EHS Shoe Closet is open again this year! Students who are not able to obtain appropriate shoes for class can receive a pair from the shoe closet. Get in touch with your teacher and they will help you get fitted!  If you have any shoes you would like to donate to our department please send them with you child. It is greatly appreciated. We are in need of both boys and girls shoes (boys 9-11 and girls 5-9). Thank You!
Athletic Fitness Intro and Advanced
The Eagle High School Intro/Advanced Fitness Program is offered by EHS to challenge and develop varsity level athletes. This class is set up to push each athlete to his or her limits and drive them to succeed in their desired sport. The class moves at an accelerated pace and has a rigorous curriculum. This curriculum is intense and demanding both physically and mentally. The goals of the advanced conditioning model of physical education and athletic fitness will be to improve flexibility, speed, and agility. We will be focusing on improving the students lifting technique, over all core strength and cardio training. Our work in class is designed to develop the entire student athlete through training to improve performance, reduce injury potential and optimize athletic performance. The conditioning model (macro cycle) is divided into three phases: twenty-week fall and spring phase and a nine week summer phase (for those who choose to train over the summer). The units of training are systematically introduced throughout each phase. Each phase is designed to build upon the previous one to produce student athletes that will be in optimum condition and maintain that condition throughout their desired season, as well as the development of lifetime training skills.

Physical Education
Welcome! While in coed physical education, students will be participating in indoor/outdoor team and individual sports. We will also be participating in Lifetime Fitness Training on a daily basis, which includes running, exercises and motor skill development. This class will introduce skill development for each sport, and will provide each student with the knowledge and etiquette required in order to be successful in these sports. The Lifetime Fitness portion of the class will be geared toward Presidential Testing preparation for all grade levels. Each unit will be four weeks long.
