Please Note: Students are responsible for handing in their assigned book to the teacher at the end of each unit; leaving the book in a locker is not considered returning the book, so it will be assumed lost. Students will be charged for any lost or damaged books.

In this course, students will study the history of film and its development, analyzing film elements such as narrative, cinematography, and special effects.  The films range from early shorts to modern classics and are rated from G to R. 

Honors sophomore English studies a variety of short stories, novels, and other supplemental materials centered around themes discussed in class. The class is vigorous and challenging, requiring active and independent learning.

Sophomore Level 2 studies a wide variety of short stories, novels, essays, plays, and nonfiction with a focus on CAPT skills. Texts will include To Kill A Mockingbird, Othello, and Of Mice and Men.

Writing for College is a senior elective aimed at further developing students' writing in preparation for college.  The course includes close readings, the college application essay, the essay question, and the research paper.  Please note that the research paper counts for 60% of the quarter 2 grade and will be the basis for a multimedia presentation for a percentage of the final exam, making it imperative that students complete this assignment.
