Due Date: March 28, 2008
http://learn.genetics.utah.edu/units/biotech/index.cfm

Finish up your graphs and lab packets too. If you have not gone through both the membrane and cell packets, answered the questions, tried the quizzes and checked your answers-you are behind. Please have this done by Tues., we'll meet during tutorial.

Next week we will go over how a nerve impulse works and look at the process of Mitosis and see how it relates to cancer. The biotech website has you do a DNA assay to look for cancer. Have this completed by next Wed.

Keep looking up topics in your yellow book as I introduce them to you in the readings.

Before break I want you all to take a practice multiple choice test with one essay. We will do this Wed. morning during I-map and you can finish during your class period.

I am really proud of each of you for choosing to challenge yourself and dedicating the extra time to your studies.
Take Care

Due Date: March 17, 2008
There are two websites you will be using all of the time. One is the PHschool The Biology Place the other is the Adavanced Placement Digital Library from Rice University. You need to register (it is free) for this site. One way to find it is to google the following: Adavanced Placement Digital Library Rice University. After you register and pick your password, go to the Biology tab. Sometimes I will assign specific site/readings from here. You need to explore here too. (click on a topic and see where it takes you). If I assign a site, like the Human Evolution one, you need to take the time to go through the whole site. Taking notes, writing down main ideas or summarizing the different parts of the site and then writing a summary, in your own words will be MOST BENEFICIAL-do it! I expect you to visit this site at the very least-3 times a week!
