This purpose of this course is to develop an appreciation of the world of science. The course emphasizes the use of laboratory techniques, science safety, designing and conducting experiments. Students will demonstrate an understanding of scientific procedures and methods and use these skills to draw conclusions and gain an understanding of various concepts and topics. Grade eight topics include: Earth’s surface, Earth’s water, geology, weather and climate, and astronomy.
