Welcome to Mrs. Tipping's Website
My goal is to help students grow. Personal growth requires doing something that is difficult and challenging. Many of the opportunities offered in my classes, and especially through HOSA, give students the chance to grow.

Certified Nurse Assistant
This course covers the state curriculum for certification as a nurse assistant. Students will learn material and practice skills in the classroom during semester one. During semester two, classwork will continue, but students will also complete a 60 hour clinical experience where they will give care to residents in a nursing home and patients in a hospital. The state certification exam is given at EHHS at the end of the year. Open only to seniors. Application and interview needed before acceptance into the program.

Semester 2 - Health & Bioscience Intern
Meets twice a week during semester two. Curriculum covers the Yale New Haven Hospital Curriculum for newly hired caregivers, parts of the national Pharmacy Technician curriculum and the SCANS (Secretaries Commission on Achieving Necessary Skills). Students must complete 36 hours of experience in some type of health care facility. Volunteer or part time job experiences are both successful. CNA students see Mrs. Tipping regarding this requirement.
