To begin the 2nd six weeks, the students will continue to work on their Texas city research project. The project includes writing a research paper and taking it through the writing process. The students will create a podcast about their Texas city.
The students are also working on their memoir in class. They will take this piece of writing through the writing process. We will be focusing on using imagery, correct capitalization, spelling, and having a "catchy" introduction.
Our next unit of study will be the Texas Revolution. We will be reading the novel "A Line in the Sand", which is the diary of a young girl who lived through the Texas Revolution. The students will keep their own journal of their journey through the study of the revolution. We will focus on using commas, dialogue, and sentence structure within this unit.
