| Numbers are Falling! |
The fall weather is upon us, well some of the time, which means we are in the second nine weeks. We are beginning a new math unit, Different Shapes, Equal Pieces. From past experience, this is a unit that a large number of students really struggle with. Please work with your students with fractions. Have them help you cook, read recipes, find equal portions and portions that add up to a whole.
Timed Multiplication Tests are being given on the computer. Students must complete it within 3 minutes and have less than 4 errors. Students may practice at www.multiplication.com, but only tests taken and printed in class will be accepted. The 4's through the 7's must be passed by the end of the second 9 weeks.
Science -
The new unit in science is understanding electricity and magnetism. This will be a hands on unit. We will be building parallel and series circuits! Students will have a good understanding of how lights on the Christmas Tree stay lit if one is out.
Volunteers -
I am looking for volunteers for the classroom. If you are able to volunteer some time, does not matter how little or how much to file papers, work with small groups, and other tasks in the classroom, please contact me!

Treats - Candy, pencils, $1 give aways (Great for encouraging participation)
