A. P. United States Government & Politics
Advanced Placement United States Government and Politics is an intensive study of the formal and informal structures of government and the processes of the American political system, with an emphasis on policy-making and implementation. This course will use college level instruction relative to College Board requirements. It will provide motivated students the chance to excel beyond the normal high school government classroom experience. You will be required to read, write, think, and discuss issues and topics using an analytical process

Global Perspectives
This class examines major geographic concepts and nine distinct regions of the world. Together we will examine the world around us. Emphasis will be placed on the things we share in common with others and what sets us apart. In order to increase the overall relevancy of the course, we will examine a variety of current global issues and how these issues impact the USA and Idaho.

Honors History of the United States, 1876 - Present
This course is an introduction to U.S. history from 1876 to modern times. Major themes and/or periods of study will include industrialization, immigration, urbanization, imperialism, WWI, the Roaring Twenties, the Great Depression, WWII, the Cold War, the Civil Rights Movement, radicalism, rebellion and revolt of the 60’s, Vietnam, Watergate, and the post-Cold War world. Students enrolled in this junior honors/concurrent credit course will be taught at a level on par with a comparable freshman course offered at Northwest Nazarene University. In this academic setting, students will be academically challenged and expected to think, speak, and write at a collegial level.
