***The art project turn in policy is as follows:
Something must be turned in for a project on the due date, even if it is a blank piece of paper, if a student is to earn credit for the assignment. If students do this, they can either turn in the project they already had finished, redo a project, or finish a project and turn it in the stated re-turn in date and earn up to full credit.
*** "Open Studo" times are announced in class. "Open Studio" provides extra time outside of the school day to work on art projects in the classroom. "Open Studio" is a priviege not a right. Students that are not in an art class, working, respectful, or participating in clean up will be asked to leave. "Open Studio" lasts from 2:30-3:00 on the days given in class. Students must have transportation home prior to attending. "Open Studio" is not a requirement, students are giving time in class to finish art projects.
Art Club will meet every Thursday from 2:30-3:30 unless otherwise announced. Please remember to bring in your signed Art Club participation form as soon as possible.
Art Club will meet Thursday, November 12th to continue working with clay.
Art Club will meet Thursday, November 19th to glaze or draw.
CREATING ART
REQUIRED EIGHTH GRADE ART
1 Semester
Create visual art with a focus on 3-D media:
ceramics, sculpture, and crafts. This studio class will provide
hands-on experiences that will allow you to develop
your production skills as you express your own ideas,
thoughts, and feelings. Art History related to 3-D media will be explored.
Students will work to revise, evaluate, critique
and present their works of art.
