Sophomore English "B" is a general literature survey course, incorporating daily journal writing, vocabulary/mechanics/grammar, and world literature. There is a monthly book review on a novel (350 page minimum) of student choice written using a dialectic book review formula. Spring class novels will be posted on the site when the assignment becomes current (at a later date.)

Freshman English is a general survey English class that focuses on personal discovery and definition. Students will read such works as Homer's *Odyssey*, Shakespeare's *Romeo and Juliet*, and *To Kill a Mockingbird*, as well as keeping a daily journal where they will write one full page a day for every school day.

My Junior English course is based on American Literature and our experiences as both readers and writers. At this time we are using the Prentice Hall *American Experience* text and supplemental readings that augment the text. Students also keep a running journal and a notebook that contains a vocabulary word a day and backgroundtext notes.
