The goals of this course are to gain knowledge of the basic chronology and major events and trends from approximately 1450 to the present. Students will examine and analyze some of the principal themes of modern European history including intellectual, cultural, political, social, and economic features and growth. Students will analyze evidence and express historical understanding, in writing, for the AP exam.
Students may take this course for UConn credit.

The course will take a chronological approach; however, units will be thematically focused. A major emphasis will be placed on the development of persuasive writing skills. Students will also be expected to analyze and interpret a variety of primary and secondary source materials.
