We are working on functional writing. We have learned to write step-by-step directions. Now, we are turning those directions into paragraph format. We have been addressing the Writing Standards daily to see if we are meeting them.
Writing Standard 3: Language Use & Conventions addresses the students vocabulary, spelling, sentence structure, punctuation, & capitaliztion. We created a class rubric that allows the students to check their own work before conferencing. |
