Math


Students will received more individualized instruction in math this year through the iReady diagnostics program.  A Blended Learning approach will be incorporated 2-3 times a week where students will be involved in computer instruction, small group instruction, and independent work.  The remaining 2-3 days a week math will be taught whole-group.  Math problem-solving "Tasks" will take place on a regular basis.

Social Studies
This year 5th graders will focus on United States History, Geography, and Current Events.

Specials


5th graders attend various special classes taught by experts throughout the week. They include: Physical Education lead by Ms. Newman; Science with Watabe; Art with Mr. Florence; Music taught by Ms. Samuels, Ms. Colby, and Mr. Smith; Outdoor with Ms. Leger; and Library with Ms. Kellum. From time to time information from these instructors will be posted here.
