Students will receive math instruction in the regular classroom at least three day a week. Twice a week students will participate in "Flex-Math" grouping. Flex-Math is taught by all 5th grade teachers, and students will rotate in and out of various groups with any one of the grade level teachers. Concepts are correlated and delivered at a regular pace.
Social Studies
This year 5th graders will focus on United States History, Geography, and Current Events.

5th graders attend various special classes taught by experts throughout the week. They include: Physical Education lead by Ms. Newman; Science with Ms. Dyal; Art with Mr. Florence; Music taught by Ms. Samuels and Ms. Colby; Outdoor with Ms. Leger; and Library with Ms. Turner. From time to time information from these instructors will be posted here.

We did a couple of exercises to practice thinking about these things and how to shade and then students chose a photograph of an animal to draw. They started by blocking in the big shapes, as we studied, and then moved towards getting a finished drawing using shading and texture. Mr. Flo |
