BEHAVIORS FOR SUCCESSFUL TEST TAKING 1. REMAINING CALM, COOL & COLLECTED ➢ Breathe ➢ Close eyes and thinking of something funny ➢ Massage hands and toes 2. STAYING AWAKE ➢ Breathe ➢ Take short breaks every 15 minutes ➢ Talk to yourself (create a saying, “I can do this!”) 3. STAYING ON THE JOB (STAY FOCUSED) ➢ Say, “I can pass the FCAT!” multiple times ➢ Do 5 problems then stop and remind yourself “I CAN DO THIS” 4. ELIMINATE THE BAD ➢ Seek advice from friends, parents, teachers, etc. ➢ Lower the bad behavior a little each day ➢ Keep a journal and reward yourself 5. CREATE A GOOD HABIT ➢ Practice math 15 minutes a day outside of class ➢ Ask at least 1 question a day ➢ Participate at least 1 time every class ➢ Become a healthy eater 6. BECOME A POSITIVE THINKER ➢ Write down something you did good every day ➢ Sit up straight and walk straight ➢ Smile in class
