Welcome to WES Music Page
If you have any questions about the music education of your child please don't hesitate to contact me through the school. I will be happy to answer any questions that you may have. If you would like to visit a music class the office will be able to tell you when your child has music and you can obtain a visitors pass and join our classes. We would love to see you there.
If when you visit and you play an instrument feel free to share it with us. We always like to have guest musicians. Of course you don't have to be able to play an instrument in order to visit us.
A great many of us enjoy listening to the radio. The following is a free website allowing you to design your own radio station. Have fun, the website is: Pandora

Beginning Band
This class is made up of students in grades five, six and seven who are just learning a wind or percussion band instrument.

Our 2010 Instrument Demonstration for Students was on this past Thursday, September 16th . Any students interested in learning a band instrument will be bringing home paperwork explaining the rental process. The parent rental night info will be on Monday Sept 27th. The paperwork will have to be in by September 24th in order for the rented instrument to be stocked at the parent night.
General Music Classes Grades K through 4
Here is a link for the Little-Amadeus site and this is a link for the San Francisco Symphony Kids site. The Dallas Symphony Orchestra also has a great site.
Middle School Band
Middle school band is for 6th, 7th and 8th graders who have played a musical band instrument for one or more school years.

Please, please try to practice those instruments. Since we only meet ONCE a week, practicing at home is more important than ever.

In your Essential Elements Book, practice pg 40, the first #1 on that page, then practice #152 and O Canada. That's a start, then choose pieces that you don't quite play as well as you should, and practice them till they sound better.

Let's make this a good, no, a GREAT year!!
