Welcome to Elm Middle School!
Advisory
In Advisory we focus on PBIS (Positive Behavior and Intervention Supports) and working as a team. Students will put into practice all the amazing skills that we learn about here. Students will also begin to discuss possible careers and colleges for after completing high school. Also, students can come to room 105 when homework help is needed (Except on Wednesdays).
Language Arts
In Language Arts class we focus on the four areas of language learning: reading, writing, speaking and listening. Within these areas, we will focus on short stories, poetry, novel studies, as well as narrative, descriptive and persuasive writing. Literature we will read this school Year: * Seedfolks * Touching Spirit Bear * The Breadwinner * Fever 1793**We will also complete workbook pages to review grammar, punctuation, parts of speech, and writing. WEEKLY ASSIGNMENTS: 1. Read 45 minutes each night or 30 pages.  2. Complete Extended Response for class on Wednesday 3. Nonfiction Article is due EVERY Friday 4.  Complete 3 Reading Plus sessions
