Welcome to the Art Room!
The art room at Whitefield Elementary School is buzzing with creativity. Children are bright eyed with enthusiasm as they work on their masterpieces. Whether it be drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, collage, fiber arts or ceramics all students are invested in their own form of personal expression. Students in Kindergarten through sixth grade are guided through discipline based art lessons that are carefully crafted in order to give students all the skills and knowledge required by the Maine Learning Results in the content of Art. Students in seventh and eighth grade are given the freedom to use their foundation in the arts to choose their art activities when they come to class. These classes are based on the Teaching for Artistic Behavior approach for learning. Please see the link provided on the class pages.
