May 11, 2012 |

Dear Parent and Guardians,
Hello. Your child will be taking the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment (MCA) biology test for my class on Monday (May 14) and Tuesday (May 15) of next week. Students who need more time to take the MCA test will also have Wednesday (May 16) to finish.
To help with studying for the MCA biology test, I have provided the students with an extensive study guide. If students complete the study guide before class on Monday, they will receive 5 test points of extra credit which will be applied to their final project in class. Students had Thursday and Friday to work on their study guides in class.
I also gave the students some helpful study tips to reduce anxiety and increase performance on the MCA test. They are:
- be positive
- be confident
- reduce stress
- get a good night sleep
- eat a healthy low-carbohydrate breakfast
- 20-25 minutes of walking before test
Thank you for all of your support. Have a wonderful weekend.

Then they created a hypothesis (using the "If"... "then"... statement)about how the population in the US will change over the next 40 years. Students then created two graphs showing the US population growth curve from 1790-2010 AND US population density from 1790-2010. Students also need to answer analysis questions 1-5 using their notes and textbook. STUDENTS DO NOT NEED TO COMPLETE questions 6-18 on the worksheet. Assignment is due tomorrow.
