Language Arts is an important core class. This class is comprised of spelling, vocabulary, grammar, literature, and writing. Since this class entails so many components, it meets for a double period. Therefore, students receive two grades for language arts on their report cards. One grade reflects the students' work in the objective (spelling, vocabulary, grammar) areas. The other grade reflects work in the expressive (literature, writing) areas.
