This course is a second-year algebra course which builds on algebraic and problem-solving skills studied in Algebra I. Students are expected to demonstrate a broad conceptual understanding of linear, quadratic, and higher-level polynomials. Other topics include complex numbers, rational equations, exponential and logarithmic functions, systems of equations, and probability. Discovery lessons incorporate the use of computers and graphing calculators. The students participate in local and nationwide math contests.
