Business Law
This semester course will inform the student of legal rights and responsibilities as a citizen. The student will become familiar with both business law and personal law. This course provides a brief introduction to the law itself, an understanding of the law of contracts (the heart of both business and personal law), legal topics ranging from the U.S. Constitution to corporate expansion and regulation. The topics include ethics, sources of law, contract law, criminal law, torts, and business associations (proprietorship, partnerships, and corporations). In addition to the text, extensive use of the Internet is employed to reinforce the concepts in the course by investigating current lawsuits and civil actions to keep the student more involved and aware of the legal process.
Computer Applications
We will be covering both basic and advanced features of Microsoft Office's popular applications, Word, Excel, Access, and Powerpoint. Projects created include reports, flyers, budgets, querying and sorting databases, and creating slide shows.
