English 2 Honors
In English 2 Honors, you will use what you learned about classical mythology to help you understand, appreciate, and perhaps even enjoy later literary works that were inspired by ancient stories.  You will perform close readings of Shakespeare's The Tempest, excerpts from Chaucer's The Canterbury Tales, Hansberry's A Raisin in the Sun, Shakespeare's Troilus and Cressida, and several poems, You will learn more vocabulary words, and you will also further develop your writing skills.  You will also participate in a group research project, presentations, and group discussions.  Your efforts will help to prepare you for future English classes, the ELA Regents Examination, the SAT, and college courses.

English 4
In English 4, you will perform close readings of Shakespeare's Hamlet, Dickens' A Tale of Two Cities, Bronte's Wuthering Heights, a work of non-fiction, and several poems.  You will learn more vocabulary words, and you will also further develop your writing skills.  You will also participate in performances, presentations, and group discussions.  Your efforts will help to prepare you for future English classes, the ELA Regents Examination, the SAT, and college courses.

English 4 Honors
In English 4 Honors, you will perform close readings of Shakespeare's Hamlet, Dickens' A Tale of Two Cities, Joyce's Dubliners, Swift's Gulliver's Travels, Bronte's Wuthering Heights, and several shorter works.  You will learn more vocabulary words, and you will further develop your writing skills.  You will also participate in a group research project, presentations, and group discussions.  Your efforts will help to prepare you for future English classes, the ELA Regents Examination, the SAT, and college courses.  You may occasionally enjoy yourself, but such moments will likely be fleeting.
