Welcome to English 2!
updated February 2, 2012
Hi, folks. I hope you enjoyed English 1.  At the very least, I think most of you benefited from the course.  Take a look at this site.  You will notice that it includes...
English 2
In English 2, you will perform close readings of Brontë’s Jane Eyre, Homer's IliadShakespeare's The Tempest, several poems, and a number of non-fiction works.  You will learn more vocabulary words and phrase structure rules; you will also further develop your writing skills.  Your efforts will help to prepare you for future English classes, the ELA Regents Examination, the SAT, and college courses.  Enjoyment of the class is encouraged but not required.

English 1
In English 1, you will work with advanced concepts and challenging texts that will help to prepare you for future English classes, the ELA Regents Examination, the SAT, and college courses. We will focus on essay writing, grammar, vocabulary, and note taking. We will likely study Dickens’ Oliver Twist, Brontë’s Jane Eyre, Wilson’s Fences, Beowulf, and other works.
