Welcome to the Moberly FFA Homepage!
Are you interested in hunting and fishing? Do you enjoy working outside with state of the art landscape equipment or inside in a modern greenhouse? Have you ever dreamed of building both large and small projects out of wood? Do you want a career that is diverse that encompasses everything from animal science to agricultural construction? Then Agriculture/Natural Resources is the program for you. In the many agricultural education classes you will learn from the many disciplines such as fish/wildlife management/conservation, animal science, agriculture construction/welding, horticulture/greenhouse operation, agriculture economics and landscape and turf management. When you complete the program you will be prepared to enter the world of work in the agriculture field or pursue an advanced degree in agriculture. You can also articulate with a post secondary college with our excellent landscape and turf management training course.
A few of the skills you will acquire in Agriculture Education are: 1. How to safely operate landscape equipment such as a compact tractor, zero turn lawnmower, garden tractor, tiller, weed trimmer, plow, disc and box blade. 2. How to construct a metal and wood project. 3. How to safely operate an electric, mig and oxy welder. 4. How to safely operate power tools. 5. Understand the science associated with animals and plants. 6. How to propagate plants and plan and implement a successful landscape and garden project. In addition , you will receive extensive leadership training through our local FFA chapter. Monthly meetings, barnwarming, a yearly trip to the National FFA Convention in Indy, motivational conferences and contests are just a few of the many opportunities available. As a result you will learn premier leadership, have personal growth and career success through Moberly FFA. Agricultural Education/FFA is a progressive four year program that will develop you as a leader and train you for life after high school!
