I hope you are enjoying your first week of school. I apologize to those of you who aren't scheduled in the class yet, please hang in there and see me before or after school to catch up. If you haven't come see me, please do so I can follow up on your schedule.  This week so far, we've only covered classroom stuff and formats and have set up our first ongoing lab which requires the collection of data over 5 days.  These days will run into the long weekend, which means you have to take your lab work home with you!!  I will accuse you of plant neglect! PPS! I have also added chapter 1 power point to the class downloads so you have the option of printing them in a handout pages and use these to take notes in class. I have also added assignments to the calendar, so please make sure you are checking these and your email for alerts.  Please bring in your materials and have them ready for use ASAP.  You already have my phone number, text me or email me after hours if you need some help.  Tutoring will start next week!

These major themes are present throughout the course as we make important connections between each of the topics we cover
Biology
Biology is a freshman year long course of study during which you will investigate organisms and their processes. The major themes to be studied throughout the year are: Cells, Bio-Molecules, Environmental Interactions, Genetics, Mechanisms of Evolution, Form and Function of Plants and Animals. During your study of Biology you will take part in a variety of assignments and laboratory experiments designed to enhance your understanding of the topics. The curriculum we will follow is prescribed by the state and national standards who also dictate our pacing and study sequence in preparation for our mandated semester exam. We hope to provide you with an extraordinary year full of discovery in the amazing field of Biology. I wish you much success!
