It is provided through K12 Texshare Program. Students, you will develop necessary skills to effectively search for topics spanning all of your coursework. Note that there are blogs and videos covering a lot of academic territory. Be sure to make use of the tutorials I've included here.

A Potent Database for Country Reports

This powerful tool provides information on every aspect of countries including government. religion, history national sympbols, population. But this resource gives students a genuine look at the customs and culture through a countries eating and recipes, sports and recreation, kids life, family socializing, fashion and holidays.
An Image Database for LHS
Many of you enrich your research projects with visual aids. They certainly can be rewarding as a picture may paint a thousand words. It is important to use good copyright ethics when using an image you did not capture on your own. This image database is provided through subscription and you may legally use any image, graphic, chart, or illustration it offers. The images are provided by the AP Wire Service.

The best possible resources LHS Library has for Shakespeare research currently provides are the Ebscohost and Gale Databases. Both of these databases have a literary component. Besides any library class instruction you may receive, the library media specialist will offer small group help with a minimum of five students.

Short Stories and Novellas - English II
This library skills class will help Engish II students locate short stories, novellas, literary criticism, complimentary genres and artistic expressions focusing on the same themes.
RELEVANT WEBSITES Classic Short Stories 10 Short Stories for Students LOCATING SHORT STORIES !. Use the library catalog to locate short stories in the library. 2. Look up short stories on line in the Google Advance Search mode. 3. Use Novelist Plus. EXAMINE YOUR OPTIONS TO MOVE FORWARD. 1. Decide if you're looking a three short stories by the same author to examine a common social issue this author explores. (This is close to a literature review). OR 2. Study one short story and determine how that social issue exist and evolved in the present. Look at the databases for your social issues and find interesting commonality and contrasts. (It's okay to use Sparknotes, eNotes, Bookrags and other summary resources to see what the social issues are if you can find your short story there. No harm in using them this way).

As seniors, you've probably used Ebscohost for some of your classes. It's time to elevate your information gathering skills. For this assignment, use Ebscohost's Literary Reference Center, (LRC). The login procedure is the same. Choose the suggested LRC link this time. Let's also look at the dialogue of Beowulf and its theme on college campuses. That's where you headed anyway, Use the Google Directory for that. What about the theme Good vs. Evil. Or, what about using Beowulf to learn more about epic poems. You'll probably want to use Britannica Online. There is a class for this resource on this site as well. Another great online encyclopedia supplying an introduction, historical overview, themes, style, literary criticism and more is Answers.com. Use this link. As promised, I am providing a resource on literary devices. Glossary of Rhetorical and Literary Terms Don't forget to look at the print collection.
