This hands-on course provides students with the opportunity to learn about the Basics Concepts of Geography, Physical Geography, Geodemography, Migration, Political Geography, Economic Geography, Global Conflicts, World Religions, Disease Diffusion, Environmental Issues, and Culture.

The purpose of the AP course in Human Geography is to introduce students to the systematic study of patterns and processes that have shaped human understanding, use, and alteration of Earth’s surface. Students employ spatial concepts and landscape analysis to analyze human social organizations and its environmental consequences. The students will also learn about the methods and tools geographers use in their science and practices.

The Current Issues and Events contest consists of a 40 question multiple choice test and one essay. The essay is intended to assess the competitor's ability to synthesize and evaluate information and present it in an informed manner.
