Description: Trace the flow of energy in a parallel and series circuit.
Task: Design a circuit that will light two bulbs at the same time. Your design must also enable you to remove one light bulb so that when the bulb is removed the other bulb remains lit. Your design can be a drawing on a poster, on a sheet of paper, or it can be model if you choose. You DO NOT have to create an actual model. You will need to write a plan that includes and explains the following:
The materials you will use or that would be needed to demonstrate lighting of two light bulbs in a circuit.
The steps you will use to demonstrate lighting the bulbs.
Diagram and explain the flow of energy in the parallel and the series circuit.

Heat From Lightning
What's much hotter than the surface of the Sun? The air around a lightning strike is. Lightning can really heat up a place. Here's what happens. The bottom of a storm cloud has negatively charged particles. These negatively charged particles move down toward the ground. They are attracted to positive charges there. As they move down, the positively charged particles rise to meet them. The movement of these particles produces an electric current, resulting in the flash of light that we call lightning. The lightning flash releases vast amounts of heat into the air. The air may become five times hotter than the surface of the Sun.
