This course is intended to provide an understanding and appreciation of our American literary heritage. English III challenges students in becoming skilled readers of prose written in a variety of periods, disciplines, and rhetorical contexts and in becoming skilled writers who compose for a variety of purposes. Assignments will consist of expository, personal, and persuasive writing, oral expression, vocabulary development, and research and analysis.
