Practicing for FCAT
Last week we took a diagnostic FCAT test covering the thirteen skills that are tested. This 70-questions tool will serve to tell each student which skills they are weakest in. While the test itself was not a grade, the practice work we will be doing will have graded assignments. When the students got their scantron answers back we did an analysis of which skills went to which test questions so they could see for themselves which of the skills were their weakest. This week and next week we will be taking that data and working in a FCAT workbook that gives more than ample examples and exercises to help student improve their skills. FCAT Reading takes place starting the week of April 22nd. With individualized practice going on in class, we're sure to be ready for the test, which is online this year for the first time for Grade 9 FCAT Reading.
