FOR ALL MATH STUDENTS:
A.  When quizzes are done the student is allowed to open their textbook or use their journal notes to answer the problems.  They have as much time as needed.  This means they finish the quiz "on their honor" at home.
B.  For any test taken that is a Saxon Test, the student can"Retest".  This means they must go over the ones they miss with the teacher.  When they retest, the two scores are averaged.  The student must come to me and schedule going over the graded test and schedule when they will take the retest.
C.  Homework is assigned over 90% of each day they have math class.
All students need to be responsible for the following:
1. Ask questions when confused on new material. This is really the key.
2. Understand "why" they missed a homework problem.
3. Showing work is a must!  I grade on "how you get the answer" as well as "the right answer". Labeling is also important
4. Expect to have a quiz in every math class and take a test every two weeks. The incremental lessons in our Saxon program leads to retention of concepts and success.
Please note that your student will more than likely have homework each time they have math class, and the assignments should be written in their agenda book.
My hope is that my students will enjoy learning math as much as I enjoy teaching it. It is work, but the skills and knowledge will be used for a lifetime.
