Vocab Practice
updated November 8, 2011 Go to http://quizlet.com/user/MsGerwin/ to access vocabulary divided by subject level: French 1, 2, 3, or Advanced French. Quizlet offers many different ways to study and practice vocabulary:...
French I
An introductory course to French culture and language. Students can expect to explore all aspects of learning a new language through memorization, oral, written, and reading comprehension quizzes and tests in the present tense and on basic French vocabulary. Students will also study French culture through reading about current events and traditional holidays/events.
French II
A continuation of French I! Like math, a foreign language builds upon previous knowledge and French II is no different. By the end of the course, students should be able to speak, understand, and read French in more detail including the present tense, simple and imperfect past tense, and future tense. Students will build up their descriptive vocabulary and work on speaking skills.
French III
A continuation of French II at a more advanced pace and level, students in French III should expect to work diligently every day - in French! Students will work on improving their conversation skills and writing skills through responding to questions and prompts in more detail and depth. By the end of the year, students will have a firm grasp on some more advanced French grammar.
French IV/V
A continuation of French III at a more advanced pace and level. Students in French IV and V should expect to work diligently every day - in French! Students will work on improving their writing skills through reading longer and more complex French excerpts and literature and responding with creative and evaluative writing exercises. Students will also focus on discovering French history and modern culture.
