Course Description
This is a course designed for students who are capable of doing college-level work in French while they are in high school. This course will be more rigorous and demanding than the French 4 class. This course will emphasize the student's ability to comprehend spoken French, to speak and write French with proper syntax and style, to read for understanding French authors including poetry and prose selections from all eras of French literature. The student will also become familiar with styles of work in art, architecture and music. The goal is to enable students to demonstrate their achievement in college-level work by taking the Advanced Placement French exam offered in May of each school year. Required summer work will include reading, writing, and listening exercises, along with recorded oral assignments to prepare for the Advanced Placement exam.
