The Comprehensive Development Classroom is a self-contained setting that provides individualized special education services for those students whose Individual Education Plans require a focus on basic functional academics and preparation for transition to independent living and working.
Essential life skills in the areas of health, consumer economics, occupational knowledge, and community resources will form the relevant foundation for student learning, and each topic will be enriched with alternate learning expectations in the academic subjects of Mathematics, Reading/Language Arts, Social Studies, and Science.
