D-E-C-E-M-B-E-R
It is bound to be a wonderful, exciting and fun-filled month here at Landstown. The Preschoolers in Room 8 are going to have many opportunities to learn about three holidays that are celebrated by many during the month of December. We will talk in very simple and age appropriate terms about Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa. Throughout the entire month we will talk about acts of giving, sharing and helping. These are three characteristics that even little ones can understand. During the month I would love to have as many parents as possible come to class and read a holiday themed story during circle time. This simple act will help to reinforce all of the actions listed above. Should you want to participate, please let me know a date that might work for you and I will do my best to put you on the calendar. Don’t worry if you don’t have a book to bring in, I have a wide selection that you are welcome to choose from. We would just love to have all of you drop by for a visit. We will also be asking our three LES administrators to come in and share a favorite book with the children.
Each week this month we will be working through the A-B-C’s of December with target vocabulary for those selected letters. I will list them below for the next three weeks. Please try and use these words when you talk to your child or with your other family members so that the children become more aware of the topics that we will be discussing.
