Hello! My name is Tressa Valentine and this is my ninth year teaching in the field of Early Childhood Special Education and I’m excited about bringing new skills and activities into the classroom and your child’s home life. I am a Norfolk State University graduate with a degree in English with an emphasis in Speech Pathology and Audiology. Prior to teaching, I have worked for Children’s Hospital of The Kings Daughter’s Neurodevelopment Center as a Speech Assistant. I have received an Early Childhood Special Education endorsement from Old Dominion University, and I am currently working on a master’s degree in Special Education at Regent University. My hobbies include: cooking, exercising, going to the movies, eating and trying new restaurants. Mrs. Renee Lesher is my assistant and has been in the Special Education field for nine years as well. She has an associate’s degree from Mount Aloysius College in Cresson, Pennsylvania and has completed course work in English Sign Language and American Sign Language. Mrs. Lesher is very fluent in sign language and uses it in the classroom to help students who have difficulty communicating. Her hobbies include: swimming, bike riding, dancing with her husband, and going to the movies. We are both here to offer your child support while making learning fun.
Mrs. Lesher and I are a great team!
