It is hard to believe there are only six weeks left in the school year. All of our students have grown - both physically and mentally and I hope they have learned things about music they might not have known before.
The fourth graders joined 3000 other fourth graders from all over the city to hear the Virginia Symphony Orchestra. We had done A LOT of preparation for the concert and they learned about all the families of the orchestra. I have to admit OUR students were among the best behaved of everyone at the concert. I am hoping it opened a new world of music for them and that they will continue to attend many different kinds of concerts all of their lives.
All of our students will be continuing to learn about and practice pitch and rhythm patterns. We will be singing songs from the books and enjoying music together as a classroom community. We will also be playing rhythm instruments with the songs to make class even more fun!
I hope you all have a wonderful end of the year. Enjoy the beautiful weather and try to do something musical!
