1st Period. Offered 1st semester only, to 7th and 8th grade students who:
-----have little or no previous band experience OR
-----already play an instrument but need a refresher course OR
-----are experienced band students who want to learn a new instrument.
7th grade students transfer into Cadet Band and 8th grade students transfer into Concert Band 2nd semester.
The required band book for this class is STANDARD OF EXCELLENCE, book 1

2nd and 3rd periods. For 7th grade band students who have at least one year of band experience, or successful completion of CMS Accelerated Beginning Band class.

4th and 5th periods. For 8th grade band students with at least 2 years of band experience, or successful completion of CMS Accelerated Beginning Band class.

Zero hour class open by audition only to interested CMS band and choir students who play sax, trumpet, trombone, piano, bass, guitar and drumset. Auditions are held in September.
