Computer Applications in the 8th grade explores different parts of the Microsoft suite of products.

Emphasis in this seven week class is placed on integrating the different Microsoft programs and how they relate to each other.

Paint, Word, Notepad, Internet Explorer, Power Point, and Excel are programs used to explore the similarities and how they can be used together.

Computer Applications in 7th grade is designed to build on skills students may already have in keyboarding input.

The first half of this six week course will concetrate on developing and improving on keying skills. Micro Type Pro is the software we will use for this task.

The second half of the class will be used to improve speed and accuracy in keying skills with timings and other speed drills. The Lost Keys software will be used as a help in this area.

If time permits we will also work with the number keypad to improve skills in this area.

The first half of this seven week class will be used to generate proper hand technique and reinforce good habits already learned. Micro Type Pro software will be used for these basics.

The second half of the class will be used to introduce students to Power Point. A major project completed in Power Point will culminate these class.
