| WFP Rice Deliveries: Top 10 Recipient Countries for 2007 |
Freerice.com is a website that contains a vocabulary game. For each word that you correctly match with its definition, twenty grains of rice are donated through the United Nations World Food Program. The website purchases the rice with the money that advertisers pay to have their banners shown on the page. This is a great way to encourage vocabulary acquisition while helping to end world hunger!
My three reading classes will compete to see who can donate the highest total of rice grains. The class that donates the highest total will be rewarded with a celebration.
Rules:
Rice totals must be printed from the computer at the time they are earned. If students do not have computers or printers at home and would still like to participate, they are free to utilize school computers during homeroom or after school.
Every week the grains will be totaled. Totals will be collected ______
Cheating is not tolerated! If any dishonesty is discovered, that class will become ineligible.
